Flowering Sun Ecology Center is the culmination of many years of training and questing for a natural way of living.
A little bit of history
We created Flowering Sun in 2017 to provide fresh, nutrient-dense produce to our community. In our first year, we created a CSA after turning a flat, mowed lawn into an epic plot of high-production beds!
The following year, we expanded our CSA with new members and created an ordering system so our clients could pick what they wanted to buy. We found that most people were looking for high quality greens and vegetables for fresh salads. We also started our wholesale operation and began to sell produce to restaurants and grocery stores in New York City and our local area.
2022
This year we are transforming our business structure into a cooperative owner model. We will have many new owners helping to actualize the mission and grow the business. Our online store will soon be open with many new products and educational material for those wishing to learn more about growing food, mushrooms, medicine and inner wisdom. We will continue to grow vegetables and storage crops for our CSA and for donation to those who need good organic food! We also offer internships and educational opportunities for those who seek more knowledge and hands-on practice! This is going to be an amazing year and we want to hear from you! We are 100% responsible to all beings here and beyond the horizon, including our wild plant and animal communities, our human families, friends and ourselves to create the best possible reality.
Guided by our elders and values of earth care, spirit care, community care, and human care, we offer goods and services which are first and foremost created with intention to heal and regenerate ourselves and the planet. Everything we offer or create has this intention put into it on all levels. We grow foods soils which have been remineralized, while harmonizing with the earth energies and celestial bodies. We are also saving heirloom seeds for our community and future generations.
